Ingredients

Makes about 3 cups

  • 1 1/2 Pounds Medium Tomatillos, husked and rinsed

  • 1/4 Large White Onion, separated into layers

  • 2 Cloves Garlic

  • 1 Tablespoon Green Serrano Chile Powder

  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Cilantro, roughly chopped

  • 1 Lime, freshly juiced

  • 1/8 Teaspoon Cumin

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Granulated Sugar

  • Sea Salt

Directions

  1. Place tomatillos and onion on foil-lined baking sheet, and place under preheated broiler for 5 minutes, or until lightly charred. Flip and roast on other side, about 5 minutes more. Remove from oven, and let cool.

  2. Combine roasted tomatillos and onions with remaining ingredients in bowl of food processor. Blend until smooth. Season to taste with salt.
