Combine ingredients thoroughly in large bowl to make thin paste. May be refrigerated in airtight container until ready to use.
Rub prepared paste onto both sides of 8 to 10 ounce New York strip steaks. Allow meat to sit for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat grill.
Lightly oil hot grill and place steaks on grill. Cook for 2 minutes then flip steaks over. Grill for 6 to 10 minutes, flipping every two minutes or so, or to desired doneness. Allow steaks to rest for 1 minute before slicing or serving.
