Makes 4 servings


  1. Melt butter in large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until golden brown. Reduce heat, add black pepper, Zhoug, cumin, turmeric and salt, and toss to combine.

  2. Add chicken to pan and cook, stirring often, until chicken is cooked through and beginning to brown.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in currants.

  4. Serve warm over basmati rice.
