Spanish Rice is a blend of onion, dried chiles, bell peppers, tomato and spices with quality white rice to produce a flavorful, ethnic-inspired product. While rice is not native to Mexico, it was brought over by the Spaniards from Asia in the 1500’s. Since the Spanish people originally introduced rice to Mexico, the traditional southwestern rice dish is called Spanish Rice. The culture then infused its vibrant vegetable flavors into the grain to provide a flavorful variety.
