    Suggested uses

  • Rehydrated Bolete Mushrooms are frequently chopped before they (and their delicious soaking liquid) are used in recipes, but Kibbled Boletes only need to be soaked

  • Can be used in many applications, (especially those cooked with liquid, such as soups, risottos, pastas, etc.) without soaking first, but only if they are thoroughly rinsed

  • Boletes are a flavorful addition to risotto, pasta dishes, soups and stews

  • Basic prep

Rinse mushrooms under cold running water to remove any possible debris. To rehydrate prior to use, place desired amount into a bowl and cover with boiling water. Let soak for 6 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then drain and rinse. Or, rinse and add directly to any recipe that will cook at least 15 minutes.

    Storage & handling

Store in a dry, cool place.

    Classic recipe

Penne with Bolete Mushrooms, Tomato and Asparagus

Bolete mushrooms are often used as a substitute for porcinis in traditional Italian recipes, as they have a very similar look and flavor. In this simple pasta dish, they add depth of flavor and a meaty texture to a fresh tomato cream sauce.
