Black Bean Orzo
Black Bean Orzo is rice-shaped pasta made from durum wheat flour that is naturally colored a dark charcoal gray with black bean flour and cuttlefish ink. The firm texture and subtle flavor of this pasta makes it a flexible and versatile ingredient that maintains its shape when cooked. It can be substituted easily for rice, adding a unique texture to many meals.
Add 1 cup of orzo to a large pot of boiling water with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of neutral cooking oil. Cook for 10-12 minutes until al dente and strain. Rinse with cold water to cool for salads or use immediately in hot preparations.
Enriched durum semolina flour (milled wheat, niacin, iron, thaimine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), black bean powder, wheat gluten, egg white, garlic powder, salt and cuttlefish ink. Contains wheat and egg.
Paired with cooked black beans and a colorful mix of fresh vegetables, our Black Bean Orzo is brought to life in this recipe with a smoky, spicy, tangy chipotle dressing. Serve this salad with grilled chicken or shrimp for a complete dish.
