This raw cane sugar has a smooth flavor and sweetness that enhances coffee and tea splendidly. Use these large sugar crystals to garnish baked goods including scones and muffins, the sugar will not dissolve or melt during baking. Adds a sweet touch to just about anything Demerara is a county of the South American country Guyana. Though the sugar was first produced there when Demerara was a British Colony, most Demerara Sugar production is now in Mauritius.
